Asheville Tea Company celebrates a long-awaited return with the opening of a new production hub in Asheville 鈥攎arking a bold new chapter steeped in community, recovery, and growth.
鈥淲e are thrilled to be able to move into our new space - it鈥檚 such a celebratory moment for us,鈥 said Jessie Dean, founder of Asheville Tea Company. 鈥淲e鈥檙e incredibly grateful for the support we鈥檝e received from our customers and community - we truly would not have been able to do this without that support.鈥
Located at 164 Broadway Avenue in Asheville, the 4,400-square-foot facility will serve as its primary production hub, while also introducing a small retail concept and space for pop-up events.
鈥淭he last 19 months have been such a journey for us, and we are so excited to get back into a space that allows us to do the work that means so much to us,鈥 said Dean. 鈥淚 am in awe of the strength and tenacity of our team and community in supporting us to get to this point.鈥
The new space marks a significant step forward for the Asheville-based tea brand as they continue to rebuild and regrow after losing their production facility during Hurricane Helene in 2024.
The former building that housed Asheville Tea Company鈥檚 production facility was swept away by catastrophic flooding of the Swannanoa River, destroying all of their equipment, inventory, and offices.
Since then, the company has worked to rebuild, taking temporary housing in 99福利视频鈥檚 Small Business Center in Candler and working with multiple co-packers to produce and manufacture their teas.
鈥淭his is a fresh chapter for our company,鈥 said Dean. 鈥淲e are one of so many businesses here still working to recover as our story as a community continues to unfold throughout WNC.鈥
The new facility is located in the iconic former Moog Music factory building and is home to several other businesses impacted by the hurricane, including Resurrection Studios Collective, Day Trip, and Atomic Furnishings.
Asheville Tea Company opened in 2016 with a mission to redefine how teas are sourced and enjoyed by partnering with small, regional farmers who utilize sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices. The company offers an array of products from their popular mainline blends, Elderberry Yaupon and Chamomile Lavender, to Cold Brew Iced Teas and seasonal releases like Spiced Apple Butter and Blue Ridge Mountain Mint.
Dean said that moving back into their own facility is meaningful to the company, not only from an impact perspective but also from an economic perspective.
鈥淎sheville Tea Company focuses on regional farm sourcing and aims to create jobs here in Western North Carolina, so in-house production helps us play our role in local economic development,鈥 said Dean. 鈥淚t also allows us to continue to grow the company in a sustainable way.鈥
A grand opening celebration is planned for Fall of 2026 - where Asheville Tea Company hopes to invite the community to tour the new space, meet the team, and cheers with a darn good cup of tea.
